What is the best SWR meter that I should bye for my set-up?

I own a Cobra 148 GTL SSB and a Wilson 5000. I t says that the antenna can handle 5000 AM and 20,000 SSB Watt.

RadioShack makes a good swr/watt meter for under $50 bucks. It's watt scale is 20w 200w and 2000w. You can pay double or tripple that amount and not get a much better meter.

Good luck, Hossless

That is an Dosy test center. It is rather large for a mobile set up.

I think the Rat Shack one is actually more acurate - I have both.

I've owned a few Dosys and others, but ya' can't beat the price and pretty darn good accuracy of the Shack meter. My Shack meter doesn't have a ssb switch on it, but it works fine when I switch the radio over to ssb, about the same readings I get with other meters with the ssb switch.

If you want to pay the price of the Dosy test center and you want a better quality meter for around the same money - check out the MFJ www.mfjenterprises.com/pr...id=MFJ-870

It doesn't need a SSB switch to measure SWR. BTW, it's far more practical to put the radio in AM mode to measure SWR, as SSB has no carrier. If the SWR is low on AM, it'll be low on SSB.

Good Call Mopar,I have one of these as well, and I really like it, nice meter.

Here is a good price, better than Factory direct, and he is a Distributor for Palstar Products.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
