FM DXing?

The Yaesu FT-8900R is a quad band radio (10,6,2m,70cm) and i want to know if spending the extra $$$ from the FT-8800R dual band is worth it. When I use my radio scanner (Uniden SC-180) I never hear anything on 6 meters. I understand that six meter is mostly SSB work for Dxing, but is FM DXing worth trying? Also, to work the FM sat. do i need a dual recieve full duplex radio like the above listed, or can i get away with a dual mobile half duplex (ft-7800R) and a radio scanner? Thanks ya'll, and I passed my element 2 exam on 9-17-04, just waiting for the call...OH I cant wait.

BTW: i have searched google for FM dxing, but all i get are pages about TV and broadcast radio, I cant believe there is no FM dxing!?

Don't forget DX'in on 2 meters and 440 FM. When the bands open you never know who you will hear or come back to you even if you are mobile.<img src=http://users.joplin.com/dutch64804/posticon51.gif ALT=":51">
