Someone was mentioning the skip problem with CBers and someone else said just switch them to FM and that would end the problem. Doesn't skip have more to do with frequency than modulation?? Would all modulation types skip the same?

Define "skip problem with Cbers"? Less than 5 Cbers on the entire North American continent use FM for local or DX talking.

You are correct. Propagation (skip)has to do mostly with frequency and not mode. That someone was spreading another CB myth.

I've worked a bunch of DX on 10 meter FM. I'm talking about contacts in other countries vs. stateside band openings which hams don't consider DX.

Skip is determined by frequency and not mode so you are correct in your thinking. FM is less likely to cause interference to electronics than AM or SSB. FM also has what is called capture effect which means a signal even slightly stronger than another signal will override the weaker signal completely and be heard without the weaker signal interfering.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
