Someone was mentioning the skip problem with CBers and someone else said just switch them to FM and that would end the problem. Doesn't skip have more to do with frequency than modulation?? Would all modulation types skip the same?
Skip is determined by frequency and not mode so you are correct in your thinking. FM is less likely to cause interference to electronics than AM or SSB. FM also has what is called capture effect which means a signal even slightly stronger than another signal will override the weaker signal completely and be heard without the weaker signal interfering.
Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
