I just got a ft 2500 for my base. I was wondering how big of power supply would need to run. will do 50 watts, but most of time only use 5watts, but would like to be able to run full power at times, thanks

According to the spec sheet you will need a power supply capable of delivering 13.8 volts DC @ 12 amps. I would get a power supply of that voltage with a current delivery of about 20 (or higher) amps. This should be more than enough to handle full power with the ft-2500. (y)

you can get by with a 12-15 amp supply leaning towards the 15 amp but a 20 amp would be a good choice because you wouldnt even be close to taxing out the supply at 50 watts output.

well i just got a 36amp 100%duty power supply. but might have the 2500 hooked up to it, as well as a cobra 25 and a silver eagle 200 kicker. Will it be ok??
