Looking at putting up a G5RV for HF bands, real estate is not the problem but squirrels are (I am in a woods) so cordage to and down a tree are (these guys will chew on about anything). How much cord would I need off each end before going to say plastic coated cable to finish the attachments and avoid interaction between antenna and supporting ends?
TIA

If you put insulators on the ends of that G5RV you shouldn't need any 'cordage'. If you just want to try it with/without cordage, do so. I don't think you'll see any appreciable difference.
