I would agree.

The 31JS6C is the same as a 6JS6C, the only thing is it has a higher filament voltage, and as Paws said some were else, still just a sweep tube. I would not ask them to do much more than that if you want them to live very long.......

The basic internal construction is the same the only thing is it has a higher filament voltage. The 6LQ6 has a 6 volt heater(filament) voltage, were-as the 31 and 24 require higher voltage(31 and 24 volts respectively) to light the filaments. The amp would have to be mod`ed to allow for the higher voltage on the heaters, so no it is not a plug-n-play swap.
