Galaxy 95t2 or Rci 2970dx pros & cons

Love my 95T also. I use it for a base and it does a great job. 0 drift on SSB. I was running it where it was doing about 200 watts pep and it got very warm. Dropped it to about 160 pep and its running much cooler. I still run a fan on it but would not have to. I love mine but im sure that 2970 is a fine radio also!

I have heard a 95t2 on am and ssb. Loud as hell on am, ssb drifted a bit after she warmed up. The galaxy didnt dissipate heat too well.

What do you use most, am or ssb??

For am the 95t2, ssb I would have to say 2970 hands down.

2970dx all the way.....

I have two RCI2970DX radios and use them everyday. These are some of the best radios thast I have ever used and I don't regret buying them. They kill on AM and SSB and the memory presets make these radios even better for tuning quickly to frequencies while driving. Plus the built in amp makes these radios heard clear accross town.

I use AM most the time with about 25 percent SSB. Most techs dont fool with tuning SSB. Mine did and my 95t is rock solid! Only have it swing to about 125 watts on SSB and it drives my Heathkit oh so fine.
