I have a Galaxy 979 Cb Radio, bought it from Sparkys my meter says it pushes between 10-12 watts. I want more punch, should I just go with a small kicker or some work done on the inside. Anyone have any suggestions on this radio.

For the money a small amplifier would give you the best bang for the buck. What meter are you running? I'm sure it's doing more then 12 watts peak. The 979 is a decent little radio for sure.

I have that same radio, done up by Sparky. You have many choices to choose from in an amp. I've always used mine with an RM Italy 300P. I occasionally switch out to a TNT-350HD. I've used a TS-500V with great success too. It all depends on what you want to spend. The choices are really endless. I've recently purchase a Midnight Special 500 for it, but haven't tried it yet.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
