Galaxy 99 mic?

I have an Astatic 636 on my 77 and everyone I know says it's the baddest sounding radio I have!

JD has a Delta Force, Cobra 29 w/echo mic(sounds better than you think), Titan 485, Doc's Tuned HR2600 w/ 575 Astatic Mic.

That's all I have.......

I have had many Galaxy 99 radio's and this one i had a talkback switch added to it! I put a astatic 575 on it, but im not sure if im going to like that or not.

If that Galaxy has been tuned and peaked properly than a power mike should not be necessary! Any thing is better than a stock Galaxy mike! Won't have any problem with the talkback with a 636 either! Plus you'll be able to run down the road with the windows wide open and no problem!

What have yall felt to be the best mic to put on the galaxy 99! If there is a talkback switch added to cut the talkbck on or off!

I am not going to put a Power Mic on it, but the RK sounds good, i have a few around here! That is what i use to run on my mobile radios! Just wondering if it still holds it's own out there anymore!

I have always run a 636 on my 99, sounds great. I bought an RK56 and it sounded terrible on my 99. Maybe I got a bad mic, or maybe the 56 didn't match up well with my voice?

I loike the RK on my galaxy when i run it! The 636 takes way to much noise out, makes you sound muffled, i dont like that at all! I have had WAYYYYYY more compliments with the RK over the years! Maybe it is a time for somebody to make a switch!

Yea, it has never bothered me at all as well! Also,the only stock mic that i ever liked to use is the new round ones that come with e cobra 25 and 29's! You will be suprised! C YA

My opinoins for what they're worth......

D104M6B- neat sounding mike but keep the windows closed!

575M6B- nice sounding mike that can be tailored to your voice!

636l vs RK56- depends on your voice.......some folks sound good on a 636 (ME) some sound good on the RK 56! ( about the button on the RK56 GET OVER IT!)

JD sounds good on the 636!

That is handy that AMT control isn't it. That way I can run a 575 on the Delta Force in the big truck!
