Galaxy DX-55V stuck in transmit mode...

Noticed R169 is not soldered firmly, feels loose but joints look fine, have to dig with probe at the bottom of it to get a reading, but it does read good. Could R169 not getting soldered down firmly cause this?

The - op amp input (the reference side) is almost at the supply voltage, and R169 being loose can definitely do that. Reflow the joints and check again.

Where you got 8.48v on pin 6, it should be about 3.4v.

Good grief, hahaha, all this hassle over my overlooking things, lol...

Turns out it was R169 not being soldered in good. One of its leads is so close to one of the R187 leads I removed that the heat from my desoldering gun must have weakened that R169 leads connection.

Anyway, I resoldered that lead, turned it on and finally it comes on in receive mode, and it does key up as it should when I press the PTT on the mic. Everything is now back to working as it should.

I'm still gonna run some voltage tests in the mic amp area, regulator area, Passthrough area and RF stage area to be sure nothing got weakened further.

Note to self: pay more attention to surrounding areas of the area you're working in.

Thank you guys/gals, you're all the best.

Now on to two old classics...
Excalibur SSB (US version, EPT 10A board) and another Galaxy SSB Echo (also the EPT 10A board).

I'll make separate threads on those though.

Thank you again to all that jumped in with advice and detailed info. You're very much appreciated on my end.
