galaxy DX959 question

if i were to purchase one of these radios brand new; what board would be in it?
i have heard that they have used two or three different boards in them over the years.

also, who are the favorite CB dealers these days?

I have owned a 959, 2547, & now, the 949 (currently used on the base).
To my knowledge, they all have used the same board, the EPT069610Z. I am not familiar with any changes to that board over the years.

As for online dealers, I seem to be in the minority in many cases, as I have had nothing but good transactions with C*pper Electronics. I don't have them do any mods or tune up, but I get a piece of gear for a reasonable price and it arrives within a couple of days. If something is out of stock, they email me to say I can place it on back order, or cancel the order.

R&R Communications in Delaware has been around for a long time, and is reliable as well. These are real people in a real store, not some online "virtual" store.

penny material is usually good for me, there parts like coax and hardware are junk.

i would just buy the radio from them and buy everything else from someplace else.

i should know better than to listen to the locals, but i thought id give them the benefit of the doubt this time. LOL

ive dealt with c0pper before, and i would buy a radio from them, but i would never buy coax from them again.
i paid to have some ends put on a piece of RG213, and
the PL259's were not soldered in ANY of the four holes for the shield.
I coulda done that! LOL
i learned the right way and now i do my own.
