GE SuperBase no output

Hi,

My GE SuperBase has recently lost output on both AM and SSB. I was abusing it like always...sustained transmissions and now the RF meter shows no output, but the MOD meter shows normal swing. Before I opened the radio up to poke around aimlessly....the radio showed full output on the RF meter and extremely low modulation on the AM MOD meter. Also at this time the SSB RF out looked normal. Now my poking around has changed the original problem from no AM modulation to no output power/carrier and no SSB output. I only have a DVM and a soldering iron to work with, and no schematic. If anyone has any suggestions regarding my problem, I would be very gratefull as I have no clue.

Thanks,
Bill

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
