general lee and texas star 667v

The Texas Star 667V is a 1x4 amp (a single 2290 driver into four 2879's).
So, I believe it is a low drive amp.
Unless someone else has one and can say more...

This is from the Texas Star site:
"These transmitters are designed for mobile or base CW operation. Powered by the 12 volt vehicle battery or 12 volt regulated power supply, the maximum power output is less than 5 watts RMS. Frequency of operation is within the 10 meter band, determined by installation of a crystal into the oscillator board. The transmitters contain a transmit/receive relay and an output connector for the receiver to share the antenna and permit break-in operation."

Thanks for your thoughts. I was worried about the swing from the 1 watt dead key over driving the 2290 in the amplifier. Now if i could just find the post to disable the driver transistor guess i would be ok?

Might be easier to just have the General Lee tuned down alittle. If it's the old school dual 1969 final powered Lee it will work fine. On the Low power setting it was easy to set those to key 1.75 watts and swing 20-25. The new mosfet versions swing alittle harder. Strong radio for that amp.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
