Greetings from northeast Ohio....new member. Have a general class license...question....it seems whenever and wherever I go on the ham bands there is only contests going on and the folks are not interested in ragchew...any ideas? Jeff B.

well, as a general rule, you either love or hate contests.
I really don't see the point of them myself.

too many good things are ruined as soon as you keep score.

are you a "weekend" operator? things are a lot different during the weekdays as compared to the weekends.

what bands do you normally operate?
the WARC bands can be a great place to operate when the coon-testers are ^^ ab v c^^^^ ab v c^^^^ ab v c^^ and five-nineing.

New member and I gather a relatively new ham by the content of your post?. You need to get on more ofter and visit the WARC bands as hookedon6 mentioned.. Contests are few and far between.

warc bands

As the guys said try WARC BANDS or if your an adventure put your radio on AM and try 75 meters on AM, a lot of fun 3880 to 3885......
DOCTOR 795

Welcome! Hang out on 17 meters if you don't want to contest. I am a contester but move to 17 or 12 when I want to get away from it.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
