Not trying to sound like a dummy, but where on the equipment should one attach the ground wire? Does it need to go internal, to a screw that holds the case on, or somewhere else. None of my stuff has an external "ground screw".

Thanks

In communications sites all equipment chassis goes back to a single ground bus bar. As said above no daisy chaining, meaning 1 wire from main ground to a radio, then a wire from the radio to an amp and so on. All home runs to the main ground buss.

For antennas it depends on where you live and your specific installation. In communications sites antennas are grounded several places. There is a ground bus at the bottom of the tower and top of the tower. The buss bars go to an underground network of ground rods. The tower and each antenna is grounded to the buss bar, as well as the main coax run at the top of the tower and the bottom of the tower and depending on how far from the building the coax cable is again grounded right before it enters the building. The idea is to keep lightning out of the building. It is overkill for most radio enthusiast though.

Hello i was needing help on grounding transceiver, switching supply, antenna and computer? What different types of grounding wire are used? Would all equipment use a separate ground wire to just one ground rod?I have no problem with making the distance as short as possible. Any web sites or info would be great.................Season Greetings<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"> Stu/CDX-288
