I have a few questions on grounding and was hoping someone could help me out ...

(1) Can I use a heating vent as a ground for my transceiver or do I have to run ground cable from my 2nd floor 'shack to be' to a rod / plate buried in the ground outside?

(2) If I have a dipole set up in my attic can I ground this to anything in the house? (similar to question 1 above) Do I have to ground it at all?

I just need some general tips on how this should be done. As you can tell I'm a little new to this and want to make sure I do it right without having to drill too many holes in the house <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

Thank you.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
