I have a lead on a president Madison. The clarifie is unlocked. Will this effect the am operation of the unit or does it actually make the this Madison basically useless on am? I'm trying to understand my internet searches on the Madison. One post says unlocked clarifier has no effect on am. The other says unlocking the clarifier on the Madison basically makes it a ssb radio only. So what u say?
 

LOL wow, a clarifier unlock has no effect at all on AM for all practical purposes. I would jump on that madison purchase in a heart beat. Super fine radio, smooth on AM and stone cold stable on SSB.

Most green display clocks are the 858PLL and the red LED clocks are the 8719PLL. Either way they are both fine radio's.
