ok,early 70,s tram d201 23 ch radio hand wired in the usa.."in sig pic below"
just did a mod to transmit on the manual tuning"vfo" to slide in between 55 channels am/lsb/usb and works great so far.
but when i talk i have a humm..guys say it sounds like an a/c hum thats stronger than my voice..dad said all 5 d201,s we have always have had the a/c hum ..but not when talking..
i have a half dozen seeping elect caps 3/4 x 3/8 would that make the hum??
OR,guys on the cb helped me locate what they say to replace..
right beside the power supply there are 2 alum metal cans.
1-3 inches tall x 1 3/8 round,says"sprague tvl 3737 85*c-185*F
40UF-450VDC can com neg 7347L
AND 1 -2 inches tall x 1 3/8 round ,says sprague electrolyic capacitor tvl 4940
10uf vdc,com cn neg 7530L
does this sound correct where the hum is most likely from as they told me?
if so should i replace them both or is there 1 thats the problem? thanks,j9
