I get that they are great radios, probably one of the best cobra labeled radios ever made. But I do not understand why they command such a high price on certain online auction sites, I'm expecting to see this one skyrocket in the last few hours before bidding closes.
Here I go putting my foot in my mouth! I understand why it means so much to some people. I just don't place as much value on that radio as somebody else might. I guess that's why I was kind of initially shocked when I first went to eBay to try to find one.You said it yourself. These are great radios. One of the best (if not the best) Cobra radio ever made. If you still don't understand why they command a premium price, then I can't even try to explain it to you.

Thank you but no.. just helping out the masses.I knew you'd get the CB bug sooner or later. Welcome Brother.
. just helping out the masses.
How close is the 2000 to the madison (uniden or president).By the time one re-caps it and make sure everything else is OK, it may seem like a bit less of a bargain. But one could do a whole lot worse. That is why I like the old 5 pin cobra 148GTL's; they are the same radio with less bells and whistles. But the whistles and bells of the 2000 are nice - too.
Rebuilt my share of 148s and still have them . . .

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
