Yeah that's the big benefit of the V Quad, Moxon, Hex Beam is that you can go with a light duty rotor. It doesn't take much to turn these. If you went with a aluminum mast section to connect to the Hex you could also keep weight down further.

The cost is the entire bill of materials, not just a TV rotor. Consider the mast adapter for a rotor, the rotor cable and cable running, the rotor adapter for tower/mast, the rotor controller, etc ,etc.

I'm not saying it's free Just that a TV rotor is a heck of a lot cheaper than most other rotors.
