OK so I'm intending to put my newly aligned and awesome sounding 1-632 in the 4-wheeler, but the mic I'm using has an electret element, so I wired up a cap and resistor and 9 volt. Now theres a terrible feedback whenever the speaker is attached. It looks like the PTT doesn't switch the mic out at any point and neither does the mic (which is a repurposed kenwood speaker/mic.) My guess is the old mic's PTT switched out the mic when not depressed. is this common for mics?

Looking at the schematic for the 1-632 it looks like the mic is amplified and goes directly to the speakers??? Any reason why the manufacuter did that? Of course its tapped off and goes into the double balanced mixers at a certain point too.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
