This document will describe how to get rid of RS-232 socket on the back of your TS-2000 and to replace it with USB socket.

Step by step instruction is below:

Buy DB9-USB-RS232 MALE module produced by FTDI Chip ( http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documents/DataSheets/Modules/DS_DB9-USB- RS232.pdf )

Power off your radio and remove bottom cover.

Remove all screws that keep PCB and its base.

Take a soldering iron and remove RS-232 socket from PCB (this is not a task for newbies).

Remove 4 inductors that are placed near RS-232 socket (between red numbers)
Now, instead of inductors you will need to get some short insulated wires and make few cross connections like 1-6, 5-2, 3-8, 7-4

After cross connections were done solder USB socket in place of RS-232 socket
Now, get your screw driver put it all together again and have fun!
