HR2510 weak receive, esp on weaker stations... Simple fix...
I recently purchased a pair of HR2510s, on of them was working, for a couple hours...
the other could barely pick up stations out there...
well it turned out the the issue was actually a Diode, D101... this is part of the AGC circuit and in many cases it is dead...
in my case I found a blown trace that had been repaired.... hmmm...
to test the diode just probe it with a multimeter on diode test mode... THIS CAN BE DONE with the diode left in the circuit...
simply lift one of the diode's legs up and in most cases the radio's receive will come back to life...
my radio's D101 was shorted to ground...
in my case it was actually too strong... if I turn the volume all the way down I can hear a Jesus is lord radio station.... I plan to purchase a replacement and fix this the right way...
so there you have it...
