does anybody know anything about these 10mtr/cb antennas? i saw one on ebay claiming that its longer than 5/8 and outperforms any other antenna for the same band :shock: :?:
Hi Bob85. I am Jim Dent. I am in Lexington, Ky. I am brand new to this forum. I found your inquiry while I was looking for additional information on my Super Swampers. I have two of these antennas. Both came from previous original owners or their surviving families. Both were originally bought locally back in the mid seventies.
I have completely reconditioned the first of the two. The original wound coil load was completely fried so I rewound it to Antenna Specialists Super Magnum specifications. I have plans to test it this weekend if I can find the time.
The second antenna is still up in the air at the point of purchase here in town so I don't know what kind of shape it is in (internally) but it looks pretty good from twenty feet down. I have a single page print ad for this antenna. If you will e- me at seagraves26@aol.com I will send it to you.
My two antennas have a large , six element static ring mounted only approx. four feet up on the M1 section of the vertical mast. This feature is not shown in the print ad but I have taken photos of it, as well as of the entire disassembled antenna and you are welcome to these as well.
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
