doing a single pill MRF454 on a zach T and i think i just took a bunch of stuff out

to trigger a relay, i tapped off of the JP13/D17 junction, and when messing around with the trigger circuit, i pulled that wire off on the other end. I let it go, and the end of the wire rubbed against an output coil of the stinger amp (L/C) tuned and i heard crackle and saw smoke. this rig has a megawatt switcher inside for the amp. its recapped. it was workin flawlessly. i ask for your prayers and tips.

D17 is shorted, so now i gotta know what else i need to replace because this radio WAS almost done. now i gotta repair the radio.
maybe TR20 but idk yet

so D17 which is a zener diode, im assuming 9.1v is removed, waiting on some to arrive in the mail, and a board trace between that lead and the diode/rest of the stuff cooked apart like a fuse. i am hoping that reconnecting that, changing the zener will bring everything back up. now we wait

I seem to remember messing with this some years ago and never finishing the project

I'd be interested to know what you are using for a supply. The Zach supply will not cut it, by a long shot.

ok, so only the zener got taken out. got the resistors correct to switch the 1pill driver on and off, im getting 130 PEP (mfj watts), 60RMS. and i can go as low as about 4W deadkey with the clean swing (see pinned post) and a B bias on the driver to keep er from pinching. the driver does not have RF sense to trigger the relay. thats wired in
