IC-V86, 7 watt mono-band HT


I have the ic v-82 which is 7 watts as well. That extra 2 watts makes a difference when using for SOTA. The battery is getting tired on it so I can see a shiny new radio in my future.
 
Ran across a brief review, more of a complaint about the the IC-v86 receiver. About images from NWS, other issues with the front end.

According to the specs, IC-v80 receiver is double conversion superheterodyne. New IC-v86 is direct conversion.

Oh well..
