Icom CS-V82 Software- Worth 40 bucks?

I have an IC-V82 that's about two years old now. I haven't used it much, and bought it only for Skywarn nets on the local repeater (the "big" machine in the area is only a mile from my house).

The reason it has not been used for anything other than that is I find the radio to be a PITA to program. It has a lot of capabilities and even with a 1/4 wave magnet mount I can raise the machines I'm interested in on medium power. It seems to me though that unless you're just a glutton for punishment, the software isn't really an "option".

Anybody use CS-V82? Is it worth it?

Thanks,

Rick

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
