ICT7H is a small but value for money dual band H/T. It does not have all the fancy functions but suits most ham radio and ARES usage especially after TX / RX frequency expansion modification.
The modification involves the removing of D15 in the Logic Unit under the metallic ground plate beneath the battery compartment. Previous articles did not give the exact details because PCB layout of the Logic Unit PC has been changed for newer version. The D15 in the logic unit is now replaced by 2 SMT diodes.
Here are the details: Location of D15 (now 2 diodes) in Logic Unit before modification.
Removing 2 diodes in logic unit after modification.
Overall view of the logic unit after removing the metallic ground plate under the battery compartment.
Upon modification, you will get:
TX: 121-190 MHz and 380-480Mhz.
RX: frequency entry covers 118-900Mhz
Of course, only performances in Ham bands are guaranteed. All modification is under your own risk and may void the product warranty.
Enjoy this very capable H/T.
