I have a ground plane kit for my imax and it consists of 4 6ft fiberglass sections spreading out diagonally. I know this groundplane will have the affect of lowering my angle of radiation on TX but will this lessen the affect of my signal getting long distances when the skip is up?

I've read on some websites that a low angle of radiation is only good for increasing the distance of your ground wave signal under normal conditions. When there is skip present the low angle will in fact lessen the amount of signal sent into the atmosphere and therefore less bouncing around the world.

Any suggestions or ideas? I might be wrong you know...

Hello wallyneumonic:

Yeah I seen the ground plan kit in catalogs.

Wounder why they don't use a real 1/4 wavelength ground plane radial kit?!??!?!?!!?!

I would try 4 each Francis Amazer Fiberglass 96 inch whip antennas. mounted straight and level at the base of the antenna. For starters.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
