Just out of curiosity, I wondered if anyone could help me with this problem. I sent the message below to Sonwatcher last night, but he told me he wasn't sure. If anyone out there has any info on this, (I already have the manuals - they don't show this assembly) I would appreciate it immensely.

Hi Sonwatcher. I wanted to tell you I appreciate the posting of the Messenger 223 manual and schematic. I received one as a gift from my late father when I was a boy. I'm cleaning it up. I have a quick question you might know the answer to.

I was taking the microphone mouthpiece cover apart and the inserts came out in my hand. Before I could see how they were arranged, they had separated. There are 2 metal mesh screens, one has a fine mesh cloth-like patch, and the other screen is plain. There is a black foam ring and a reddish paper ring, too. I know the paper ring goes between the internal diaphragm and the rest of the assembly. Do you know the sequence of installation of the other three? Any help is appreciated.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
