If you ever want to use a powered microphone on a TS-430, normally it would require it's own 8-9V supply (Batteries).

I have found that Connector 22 pin 3 (Grey Wire) on the VOX Control PCB has a +8V supply. (I did not trace the circuit to find it's source but have done this mod & it worked fine for me).

Simply run a wire from the pin mentioned, down to the back of the 8 pin mic socket & connect it to the free pin on the top (RHS looking from the bottom) PIN 5, which just so happens to be the standard Kenwood +8V Pin on all Kenwood 8 pin mic's. eg. MC-60A, MC-80 etc.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
