Yeah, Doc's right...Guy wires don't cause RFI. If you're happy with the wires, it may be easier & cheaper to install insulators if you're concerned about the lengths of the wires and the effect on radiation pattern rather than replace it all with rope. I just put up galvanized six strand guy wires. If they cause interference with the neighbors, I'm thinking about switching to Kevlar guy rope, rather than putting a bunch of insulators in the wires. It can be had for 12 cents a foot here...

Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? Is Kevlar rope hard to work with and tie knots in? Do knots severely degrade the rope's breaking strength?

I use the 5/16" diameter Dacron, it is very strong. You wouldn't need anything stronger for just a ground plane. Also, you can find it cheaper, just do a search for UV Resistant Dacron Rope
