Just curious, was this small claims? Are you local to him, or did you need to travel?
Drove down 2 times from north AL. Did not show for either. Yes, it was small claims.
I certainly admire the effort and fortitude to get him held accountable. That's a rare commodity today.
I emailed and suggested that but went on deaf ears. Would not respond to anything I sent for the last 2 1/2 years.
I think he is in FL? Must have been a long drive, I hope it was worth it. I suspect he isn't going to pay, but you never know. Hope for the best.
I think in Ohio you can attach Judgement to property. I think it has to be resubmitted every so often. Can't sell until paid off.
From the court doc's, he has to show, to the court, proof that he has paid the judgement within 45 days, with 10% interest(sworn affidavit, credit company, loan)
Or what? They gonna lock him up? Don't misunderstand me, I am on your side, but I seriously doubt he gives a crap. It wouldn't be the first time a sheriff or marshal had to collect a judgement. I hope he owns it and I am wrong.

Can't you just have the court garnish his wages, tax refunds etc... if he fails to pay?
Never had any personal feelings with him. Only serviced a Galaxy 959B for an operator that had purchased it brand new from Les prior. It was purchased he had to wait nearly a year to receive the rig and when he did he had cap upgrades done as well as the channel expansion. This is where things became sticky because the extra channel board had some form of failure. When calling to inquire back to Les the customer stated it would not be under a warranty and it would be an additional charge to either fix or install a new board. I can't even recall what the price was but it was pretty up there. On top of that he was told that it wouldn't be looked at for at least 10 months because he was so backed up. The customer sent it up this way to me. We removed the companion channel board that failed and put it back to a standard 11m rig and did a tune and alignment.
I don't think it's a matter of hate or finger pointing to alot of these well known techs and shops but money for these gentleman is in selling brand new product with upgrades and modifications so it seems these days. If you really focus in you'll notice most don't want to repair old equipment because they don't see the money to be made as compared to up charging for brand new items with more features and altered modifications to boot. Just my 2 cents.

The main outcome from this is he is a thief and a crook(from court doc's) and that people should think twice before dealing with him. I don't care if he has all the training in the world, you take a man's stuff, you are a piece of sh*t in my book.
It's a shame. I've known Les for many years, and he was as honest as the day is long. But times change and so do people.
