I recently reconnected with some old friends that I hadn't talked to for almost 40 years. To my amazement, one sent an email with a bunch of pix from back in the day, including my first car. I wasn't a shutter-bug then, so I don't have a lot of pix from the good 'ol days.
It was a '62 bug with a rag-top sunroof. My brother drove this turd from Alabama to CA when he got out of the Army, then gave it to me after he blew up the old 40-horse motor.
It looked like s#it, but we built the engine to eat V8s. It wasn't quite the 'Iguana' or the 'Inch Pincher', but we had a lot of fun with that car, it was a real sleeper
Also, notice the orange Shakespeare '45' 11M antenna above the rear window (circa: 1970 - when we only had 23 channels to play on) :laugh:
