OK,Guys need some help here. I have a COBRA 85,want to put a 99 Electronics Lil.Pre.Amp.in it.The radio only has Vol.and Squelch.Anyone know if it can be done if so who can do it? The radio was a 23 chan.now it is a 40 chan.The reason i want this old rig to run good is because it was my first radio got it new and want to keep it to give it to my grandson.I have all the paper work on the amp.Just looking for someone that can do it RIGHT FOR A GOOD PRICE.73s.RAY.:confused1:^can not stand it^.
 

I think you would be better off just having a tech align the receive and make sure it's working like it should. That said you could always get with DTB or Loosecannon, forum members that are techs, and see what they think.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
