I have a destroyer 4 pill it has 2879 in it. i have a 2 pill with 2879 in it. 2 pill will do about 200-250 on 14 volts. is the 2 pill to much of a driver for the 4 pill? thanks

Yes, way too much drive. If you feel the need to drive it, a small 1 pill/ transistor amp with a variable would be the most to put into it.

Neither of those amplifiers require much drive at all, they don't need an extra 'driver'.

Properly driven for clean output that four pill should see no more than about 40 watts input drive. Now the question is do you think 200-250 watts is too much?

Those 2x4 amplifiers are really piss poor creations, complete waste of driver pills. They have to padd the driver stage down so much to eat up all the excess wattage. All that does is create heat and draw a bunch of amperage.

As far as that 4 pill, I would keep the input wattage under 100 peak. The only reason I rate it that much is it's a class C comp style box. As stated just a 30-40 watt radio will do the job.
