I'm still looking for a place in the country. I don't want to put up a tower, nor do I want anykind of a pushup pole that needs guying. I want to do this on my house in the village. Saving my $ for tower when I find a place

I want a Cushcraft A148-20T

Thinking of using a 5 foot Rohn Tripod mountwith TV rotor with a little thrust bearing. My shingle roof is 5 months old. That antenna andassociated hardware should be much of astrain.

Anyone using a tripod like that? I wouldn't mind a two element quad, either. The mount, rotor, bearing and control cable wouldn't be very expensive.

I want to gab on 2 meter SSB/CW, but the vertical would be handy for my occasional simplex chats.

Also, I think I want to use a power devider with this antenna. Only need one run of 9913F, but lose 3db gain. What say?

Nice, way cheaper than Rohn. I was worried about roof leaks. Talked to a friend tonight, said he'd trust it. He's an old roofer. Figured I'd avoid issues with such a light antenna. Never know, though.

Thanks for link.
