Clearly the K-PO 5000 DX seems to be the wallet friendly options.

It appears to be mic friendly onlike the absolutely stupid mic connector ont he AT-5555 II.

Now that I have asked down to Earth practical questions that does not involve swaping in a mosfet into a Combra 29 or doing NPC-RC mod I recon the internet expert will again be as silent and crickets after an atomic blast. Heaven forbid they should have relavant info that is practical and full of utility on current trends and models!

I like the display on the AT-5555 and AT5555 II best but the price difference is in favor of the K-Po 5000 DX.

The thing I care least about is output power. I talk on AM during the day time and SSB at night time. Anything that will do 1-4 watts with forward swing is more than enough for me. I do like having 10, 11, and 12 meter in one box.

Thanks!

I think you have the radio designations wrong in the post above but I understand your question

The newest of both the anytone at-5555 plus and k-po dx 5000 plus are identical aside from the badge.

Thank You very much.

I dig and dig and dig and it is so easy to get lost in the Naming COnvention of these Chinese made wonder radio! Plus the threads wonder around as well. You can easily read 23 threads and only get 2 posts that are useful and even then the names for models are hard to keep up with.

I would like a AT 5555 II but hate the mic conector and the K-PO 5000 blah blah blah is local from a brick and motor store for $197 out the door. Well it is 45 minutes away by interstate so not exactly local.

I want to pay as little as I can for the features I want. As I understand it these radio's do not even have pots inside for tuning anything.

Even when you go to the various sites they just cut and paste the craptastic Chinese marketing info onto their sites largely answering nothing that is not already on the box.
