Your right I misquoted from memory. It actually exploded with 30 times the power of the Hiroshima bomb or about 500 kilotons. Now; back to the solar storm.

I remember hearing about it at the time but I think that since it missed us they were not too concerned with what COULD have happened if it had hit us straight on until after taking time to further analyze data. It truly was a non-event but it could have been the event of the century.
