I ran the v quad for a couple years and it worked good. we had a ice storm and the wire broke from the ice built up this was the 2nd time so went with the maco 103 and I liked it real well. have ran it verticle and horizontal also. both seem to be good antennas. when I ran the 103 horizontal I had a maco v5/8 ground plan on top of it for local talking. the 103 was great for skip horizontal.
