Made In the USA - SigmaIV ;)

Eddie,
You asked a question elsewhere about what appears to be pitting on the head of the bolt on the antenna/gamma connector. Your question is whether it is pitting, and what I thought caused it.

When the site is working again I'll answer the question there. In the meantime, the answer is that it isn't pitting, but some kind of patina on the coating of what is on that particular bolt the zinc coating. I can brush it away with a wire brush.
I figure it may be the adjacent brass connector and it reacting. I will have to replace that one with a SS bolt if I put it back into commission.

As a matter of interest,

The Sigma IV is doing good, but when measuring against skip conditions things vary from one minute to the next. It is mounted 40' in the air at the bottom.
I have the Astroplane up at 30' right now, too. Switching back and forth between them I have gotten reports with the SigmaIV doing best, however, today the reports have been going in favor of the AP. And. I am hearing things better on the AP today. It will take some time to get a fuller picture, but I'd say the S4 is doing well.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
