I want to put a 6 pin on my M575 for a magnum 257. I read somewhere that one of the pins is hot and using a different mic can damage the radio. Can I do it safely? What do I need to know?

Thanks

helped me hotrod, thanks.
I just break off the #6 pin in the mic connector FLN, then the stock mic still works. it's a good mic with great audio but it's made for someone with smaller hands. good conversation and my hand starts cramping up.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
