Once the step is selected it will stay in that step until changed by user or the radio is turned off when it will return to the default 5khz step. The last digit on the display will blink while you are selecting the step but once you key the radio it stays in the step chosen 1,5,10,100 (Khz) and the digit stops flashing.
The memories are real memories.
They stay till changed manually by the user.
The memories can be scanned.
The Lincoln 2 for example seems to have 6 vfo's cos if you bring up a memory and then use the vfo the memory is changed to the vfo. Not that useful really...
