magnum omegaforce s45HP problem.

al ready fixed. i wish i could have gotten copper m3 screw but i found zinc so that work. so far so good just getting the cases back on it to check it out. if this doesn't fix it then there is a problem with the CPU. now that isn't a easy fix hihi

It's Still doing it. i use my Astatic D104 mic on the four pin side and for some odd reason it seems to be causing it...
The stock mic doesn't seem to make it wig out. ah oh well radio works as it should i guess ill just stick with the stock mic.

Did you happen to have them both plugged in at the same time?

yes. before when anything was plugged in on the four pin side the other stock mic didnt work. and now the stock mic is the only one im using and the radio is still acting funny. i may send it to magnum for a repair as this radio has been a weirdo since day one.

im not sure if its possible but i ran the RF power knob at full power... all the time... is it possible that is just too hard on the rfx causing it to trip out? aka heat.... shouldn't be an heat issue as i added a super fan on the back.. anywho ill try running the radio at about half way 5w dk and let it modulate to 75w it used to do 100w but i turned it down cause i figured that is too much strain on the mosfets.....just my IMO....

as soon as it does its reset thing while transmitting my transmit output drops to 0. until i unkey and key again once i keyup im back to transmitting. also, im noticing the analog meter isn't showing like it used to when using the external deadkey pot. before with knob at zero it was one watt. when raised all the way the needle on the analog meter would show half way 10w dead key. sometimes the meter on the display disappears on transmit for no reason. iv done a reset and tried different jumper positions.

If you ran that radio with the RFX up to 100 watts for a long time - I amazed that it still works at all - to tell you the truth.

How far are you from 'The Radio Shop' in Ontario CA?
Is it still under warranty?

real far away from Ontario,CA . iv noticed Variable power doesn't work dk is like ZERO but it still swings... weird its like its stuck on SSB... but its not cause i talked to locals still sounds fine over the air on and ssb.
yes still under warranty should i call sparky cb shack where i bought it? or call magnum ?

Hmmm...I would call Chris Holland at 'The Radio Shop' first and see what he says. Ontario CA is a lot closer/quicker to you than Illinois is - IMO . . .

i called. was told to get a R.A number. called RF limited left a voice mail for Sam Lewis ...

i think the part that controls the deadkey is bad. cause when i turn on and whistle into mic radio finally hits max output with a zero dk and once i stop whistling dk slowly rises. so it must be a bad cap? cpu is a bad ground somewhere just dont know where? cant be the screw rf limited mentioned in the tech notes......

If they suggested you get an RA Number, that means its going back to the factory. I would do whatever I needed to do, and get that number, and send it back. Whatever you do, dont tinker around inside the radio anymore than you have done.
No first hand knowledge on this... but you might want to set everything back to factory.

Wouldnt it be fun to go through all this hassle, and have them not honor a warranty because you played around inside the radio?
Not saying that will happen, but man would that suck.

See if they will issue a Call Tag to ship the item back. (aka they are paying shipping back to them)

Good luck.
