Max watts for new car?

While I don't know how much power it would take to fry an ECM, I can tell you that 100 watts from those so-called "linear amps" (that are commonly used on CB) are enough to cause stumbling issues on a fuel injected engine.

Start with ONE watt.
Gradually increase power, keeping track of how much.
When the under-hood explosion (UHE) occurs, get car fixed.
Never use more than the last power recorded before UHE.
