New to the forum here, and to radio, for that matter. So,hey yall.

I just purchased an analyzer, its NOS ,MFJ-259B.The soldering is really crappy in spots on the board. Some of the solder joints are bridged and I dont know if it was a mistake at the factory or if its supposed to be that way.

Could yall post some pics of your 259B circuit boards up so I can have a kind of reference to go off of?I did a web search for images but didnt find anything I could see clearly enough.

All the circles are solder bridges. The question mark w/arrow,I dont even know how to explain what that is.Let me know if more or better pics are needed.

Aside from the soldering looking sloppy, I do not see any issues with the soldering, as the bridges all seem to be at points along the same trace/path. The question mark spot looks like a bit of copper is exposed. Providing the part is soldered securely, I would not fret too much.

Are you having issues with the meter?

Holydvr, I havent fed any power to it yet because I didnt know if the solder bridges were supposed to be there or not(didnt want to fry anything). Its a new unit, never even had a connector plugged in.

Yeah,I dont get the bare copper spot w/ solder beside it.It looks like a tiny wire going from that to another solder joint.

Heres a better view of it.

That really looks to me as if there was a defect or mistake where the board was damaged (bare copper) and they wished to strengthen the solder joint by adding the wire. I have had to do this before when I had little choice.

That is a wire coming off next to the copper and going to a solder joint.
Well,I guess I will get do some resoldering and hook some power to it.Thank yall for your input, much appreciated.
