Mic squealing in mobile

I put my trc485 in my car and with a power hand mike I get sqealing if I put the mic close to my face.
Turning it down helps but it is too quiet.

What would cause this?

I think my swr is good, running stock power too.

Hello there first check your SWR if that is good then i would check the ground you might have to install a ground wire to the frame. And if you have talk back installed in your radio and you are using an external speaker you might have to turn the speaker away from you ( point it towards the pass/side door ) I hope this was helpful. 73's n have a great day n a better tomorrow
