I think this might be one more thing I forgot to ask . What kind of mic would work good with a Magnum 257? I use an astatic 636L now and I love it.

I use the 636 an my Comanche Blackhawk which is the clone of the 257 and it works great. With the amount of audio I was able to get out of my radio it was the perfect choice.

Keep in mind these radios along with all Magnum radios are very bassy. The RK56, D104, 575, and 2018Xtreme are all compatible, as well as (if you can get one off ebay) old Shure mikes. Just so you know the Shures sound excellent on the new Mavericks.
