I have a pdf version of the original 79-290 service manual. it is the original and is hard to comprehend depending on your radio knowledge. you may be able to use it, just do not know your experience with radios so if you would like to try it leave me your email address and I can send it to you. it is not laid out as the newer versions so you may have to read it several times to understand it. I have been doing radios since 2001 and it takes me time to follow it also. have only done 2 of these radios since I got it in 2002.
